Le Ruisseau
Camping le Ruisseau is a top quality family-run site and one of the liveliest sites in S.W. France. Situated in a superb location at the foot of the Pyrenees just outside the fashionable holiday resort of Biarittz (3km).
In the heart of the Basque country, close to the wonderful surfing beaches of the South West Atlantique coast.
The site boasts a fantastic pool complex incorporating huge waterslides, a jacuzzi, sauna and sun terrace. Winding slides and waterfronts make for endless hours of fun. There is also a large indoor pool ideal for early and late season holidays or fitness swimming. Sports facilities are excellent with the tennis courts and gymnasium.
Camping in France was never as good.
The site is a member of the highly accredited ‘Castels Camping Chain’ Members must display the highest level of facilities and standards.
The site also boasts two lakes, which can be used for canoeing or fishing. Our emplacements are very big and all offer some degree of shade.
Live evening entertainment and outdoor disco’s are provided in July and August. The bar is lively throughout the season and also has large screen television on the terrace.
Le Ruisseau is situated close to the Basque town of Bidart Its only a short drive to good beaches and many restaurants and bars in Biarittz and St jean des Luz. The ‘Centre Plage’ beach in Biarittz is sandy and its big rolling waves making it especially good for body surfing and surfing, always popular with the teenagers.
Le Ruisseau offers so much for the family both on and off the campsite. There is so much to do and see in this area that many customers comment that two weeks was not long enough!
Places Of Interest
Biarritz - just 3km is still a chic and popular holiday destination for the French.
Bayonne - The capital of the Basque region is only 10km from Le Ruisseau and offers a cultural experience of the local history as well as some excellent shopping. Bayonne has a lovely cathedral and interesting Basque museum.
The Pyrennees National Park - is within an hours drive and covers 286 square miles.
St Jean Pied de Port - which sits high in the Pyrennes and looks back across the South west Coastline.
St Jean de Luz - Just 15 km from the Spanish border, a charming fishing port in an attractive setting and another superb family beach.
